This tour has been carefully curated to help you immerse yourself in the charm of Jaisalmer as you stroll through the narrow lanes, interacting with the locals, discovering hidden gems, uncovering the stories & legends that make these iconic landmarks truly remarkable.

In this fascinating walking tour, you will be visiting some of the popular attractions like the Jaisalmer Fort, local market, Patwon ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • This walking tour will start from the Trotters Office near the Fort Gate at around 8 am.
  • Here you will be served a special warm tea on arrival.
  • After this, you will proceed towards the Jaisalmer Fort where you will visit the Maharaja Palace, which will be followed by a visit to the Lakshminath Temple, Chandraprabhu Jain Temple and the Surya Temple.
  • Then you will visit the cannon point to see an antique cannon and a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
  • After this, you will descend to the Gopa Chowk and proceed towards the Patwon ki Haveli, an archaeological marvel.
  • Then you will walk towards the Nathmal ki Haveli.
  • After spending some time at the haveli, the tour will conclude at Gadisar Lake, where you can relax by the tranquil waters or opt for a boat ride (at an additional cost).
  • After the tour, feel free to explore the rest of Jaisalmer at your leisure.

  • Maharaja Palace
    Situated within the Jaisalmer Fort, the palace is a fascinating place with intricate details, captivating artifacts and architectural grandeur.
  • Lakshminath Temple
    The temple is located inside the Fort and was built in 1494. It is dedicated to the Goddess Lakshmi & her consort Lord Vishnu.
  • Chandraprabhu Jain Temple
    This temple is also inside the fort and was built in 1509. It is dedicated to the the 8th Tirthankara Jain Prophet Chandraprabhu Ji.
  • Surya Temple
    The Surya Temple is a small temple inside the fort that was built in the 16th Century and is dedicated to Lord Surya (the Sun God).
  • Patwon ki Haveli
    With a rich history dating back to the 19th century, Patwon ki Haveli stands as a testament to the opulence and architectural brilliance of the wealthy Jain traders of Jaisalmer.
  • Nathmal ki Haveli
    Built in the late 19th century by two brothers, Nathmal ki Haveli showcases a unique blend of Rajput and Islamic architectural styles, reflecting the craftsmanship and artistic fusion prevalent during that era.
  • Gadisar Lake
    This lake was built in 1156 AD by Maharaja Jaisal Singh to provide water for the inhabitants of Jaisalmer. It was later rebuilt by Maharawal Gadsi Singh around 1367 AD.
