Overview
Our Diwali Camel Safari has been designed to offer an unforgettable festive experience in the desert as it enables you to experience & witness a wonderful sunrise and an evening lit with diyas (Indian candles) on Deepawali along with an amazing camel ride.
This safari allows you to embark on a camel and ride further into the desert from a small village. It also allows you to spend your night sleeping in the village in a comfortable & cozy bedding.
After the camel ride, you will also be visiting the famous Khaba Fort and a natural serene oasis, which is also the source of water for various birds, animals and villagers.
Itinerary
Day 1
- The camel safari departs at around 1:30 PM from Jaisalmer by jeep .
- On the way to a local village, you will visit Khaba and a natural oasis.
- You will soon reach the village and will recieve a warm welcome by the villagers.
- Soon you'll be served snacks and a welcome drink.
- You may then participate in the puja (religious ceremony) and light a couple of diyas.
- After puja, you may watch the fireworks.
- Be prepared to taste some delicious local cuisines prepared by the villagers.
- You will then sleep in a house within the village for a more localized experience.
Day 2
- Next morning, wake up early and you will then proceed towards the sand dunes.
- Here you will witness a mesmerizing sunrise on the way.
- Then you will be greeted by our healthy camels and friendly guides.
- You will be allotted one camel per person for a 90 minute ride within the desert.
- On reaching the dunes, you may set out to explore them on your own.
- Soon, you will be served delicious, freshly-cooked breakfast
- After breakfast, take a jeep ride back to jaisalmer.

- Jeep Ride Enjoy the jeep ride from Jaisalmer to the sand dunes and then back to Jaisalmer.
- Khaba Fort Khaba Fort is a ruined citadel built around the 13th century. It was the home to the kingdom of Paliwal Brahmins.
- Kuldhara Kuldhara is an abandoned village which once housed the Paliwal Brahmins. They left to save the honour of a Brahmin girl from Salim Singh.
- Natural Oasis This natural oasis never dries and serves as the only source of water for the villagers and various animals.
- Sand Dunes Ride, walk, dine and relax on the picturesque yet mesmerizing sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Jaisalmer.
- Camel Ride Embark on an enchanting camel ride through the varied landscape of the Thar Desert (one person per camel).
- Night Stay Sleep in a cozy warm bedding at a traditional house in the village to experience the local life.
- Religious Ceremony Witness an enchanting religious ceremony or puja at a local villager's home and light soeme diyas.
- Fireworks Participate in burning crackers with children or watch them play for a unique exeperience.
- Drinks & Meals Savour your taste buds with freshly cooked, non-spicy delicious vegetarian meals. Non-Vegetarian food and alcoholic drinks are available at an additional cost.
