Overview

Our Christmas safari has been designed to offer you a raw experience of the desert along with a chance to celebrate Christmas on the dunes. You will be in for a surprise Christmas gift and will witness a mesmerizing sunset and a captivating sunset on the dunes.

This safari gives you an opportunity to ride into the desert across a diverse topography that ranges from rocky outcrops to the majestic sand dunes. It also offers an opportunity to sleep under the star-lit sky in a warm & cozy bedding.

Before heading to the dunes, you’ll be visiting Khaba and a natural oasis that never dries out and is the only water source for a wide variety of local birds, animals and villagers.


Itinerary

Day 1

  • The camel safari departs at around 1:30 PM from Jaisalmer by jeep .
  • On the way to the dunes, you will visit Khaba and a natural oasis.
  • You’ll receive a warm welcome by friendly guides and healthy camels.
  • You will be allotted one camel per person for a 90 minute ride within the desert.
  • Stop at the dunes, marvel at the beautiful sunset, and savour the taste of delicious snacks.
  • Then you will witness a mesmerizing traditional cultural program along with special Christmas Dinner (pure vegetarian meals).
  • After dinner, witness colorful fireworks in the open night sky.
  • Later, sit around the bonfire and have a delicious traditional dinner.
  • You will recieve a surprise Christmas gift.
  • Sleep under the stars in a warm and a cozy bedding.

Day 2

  • Next morning, wake up to a beautiful sunrise.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast after sunrise.
  • Mount on your camel and ride for about 90 minutes.
  • Take a jeep ride to Jaisalmer and reach by 11 AM.

  • Jeep Ride
    Enjoy the jeep ride from Jaisalmer to the sand dunes and then back to Jaisalmer.
  • Khaba Fort
    Khaba Fort is a ruined citadel built around the 13th century. It was the home to the kingdom of Paliwal Brahmins.
  • Kuldhara
    Kuldhara is an abandoned village which once housed the Paliwal Brahmins. They left to save the honour of a Brahmin girl from Salim Singh.
  • Natural Oasis
    This natural oasis never dries and serves as the only source of water for the villagers and various animals.
  • Sand Dunes
    Ride, walk, dine and relax on the picturesque yet mesmerizing sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Jaisalmer.
  • Camel Ride
    Embark on an enchanting camel ride through the varied landscape of the Thar Desert (one person per camel).
  • Night Stay
    Sleep in the open desert in a warm & cozy bedding overlooking the star-lit night sky.
  • Christmas Gift
    You will recieve a nice traditional handicraft item as a Christmas gift.
  • Cultural Programme
    Witness a dazzling local dance, music & cultural performance by the local gypsie community.
