On the third day, visit Tanot and Longewala, where you can learn about the 1971 Indo-Pak war at the Sadhewala War Memorial and Longewala Yudh Sthal. Return to the Sam Sand Dunes for an exhilarating jeep safari, cultural program, and another night in the desert camp.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • The Ghumo Jaisalmer tour will start from the Trotters Office near the Fort Gate, where you'll be welcomed with a special warm tea.
  • Proceed towards the Jaisalmer Fort to visit the Maharaja Palace, followed by the Lakshminath Temple, Chandraprabhu Jain Temple, and Surya Temple.
  • Visit the Cannon Point to see an antique cannon and a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
  • Descend to Gopa Chowk and proceed to Patwon ki Haveli, an archaeological marvel.
  • Head towards Nathmal ki Haveli.
  • Conclude the tour at Gadisar Lake, where you can relax by the tranquil waters or opt for a boat ride (at an additional cost).
  • After the tour, explore the rest of Jaisalmer at your leisure.
  • Return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2

  • Wake up to a fresh new day and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
  • Get picked up in a comfortable air-conditioned car from your hotel or any preferred destination within the city.
  • Head towards Kuldhara, a ghost village with a haunting history of an abandoned settlement, shrouded in mystery and tales of an ancient curse.
  • Visit the Jaseri Oasis, a natural water source for various birds, animals, and the local community.
  • Explore the historic Khaba Fort and village.
  • Mount on your camel for a safari on an off-beat track, riding through the serene dunes.
  • Stop at the dunes, marvel at the beautiful sunset, and savor delicious snacks.
  • Sit around the bonfire and enjoy a traditional dinner.

Day 3

  • Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and enjoy a healthy breakfast.
  • Continue your camel ride for about 90 minutes.
  • Get in a cozy car and head towards Tanot, reaching after an approximately 2-hour drive through the rugged desert terrain.
  • At Tanot, seek blessings from Tanot Mata and partake in langar, a free vegetarian meal offered by the Indian Army.
  • Head towards Longewala to visit the Sadhewala War Memorial and Longewala Yudh Sthal, learning about the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
  • Continue towards the Sam Sand Dunes.
  • Upon arrival, be greeted by our friendly staff.
  • Enjoy a short camel ride into the dunes.
  • Experience an exhilarating jeep safari over the sand dunes.
  • Sit back and enjoy an enchanting sunset.
  • Return to the camp for a traditional welcome with tikka, dhol, and aarti.

    Built in the late 19th century by two brothers, Nathmal ki Haveli showcases a unique blend of Rajput and Islamic architectural styles, reflecting the craftsmanship and artistic fusion prevalent during that era.
  • Mandir Palace
    Originally a royal residence, Mandir Palace showcases exquisite Rajput architecture and offers a glimpse into the grandeur of the erstwhile rulers of the region.
  • Gadisar Lake
    This lake was built in 1156 AD by Maharaja Jaisal Singh to provide water for the inhabitants of Jaisalmer. It was later rebuilt by Maharawal Gadsi Singh around 1367 AD.
  • Bada Bagh
    This is a historic site in Jaisalmer known for its grand cenotaphs dedicated to the royal families of the past, reflecting the architectural brilliance of the bygone era.
  • Amar Sagar Jain Temple
    This jain Temple is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath, called Adeshwar Nath Jain temple and was was built in 1928 by Patwa Bafna Himmat Ram on the banks of a man-made lake.
  • Kuldhara
    Kuldhara is an abandoned village which once housed the Paliwal Brahmins. They left to save the honour of a Brahmin girl from Salim Singh.
